Win "The Spy Next Door" on DVD or Blu-ray!

On May 18th, Jackie Chan's family friendly comedy The Spy Next Door was released on DVD and Blu-ray. It's the tale of a spy who finds that watching over a few kids can be just as challenging as gathering international secrets. Think of it like Rush Hour, but Chris Tucker has been replaced by three child actors whose combined talent just about equals his. What's not to love, right?

Like any contest on JustPressPlay, winning is easy. All you have to do is follow us on Twitter and tweet the following message. You only have to tweet it once, but you can tweet it once a day until the contest ends for multiple chances to win.

Again, the steps are:

1) Follow JustPressPlay on Twitter

2) Tweet one of the following two messages at us (depending on which format you want the movie):

@JustPressPlay I secretly want to win The Spy Next Door on DVD, but Twitter isn't very stealthy...

or

@JustPressPlay I secretly want to win The Spy Next Door on Blu-ray, but Twitter isn't very stealthy...

And now...a synopsis:

Acclaimed martial-arts superstar Jackie Chan (The Forbidden Kingdom) is back to kick up the action and bring in the laughs with The Spy Next Door, making its way onto a 2-disc Blu-ray Combo Pack – which includes both Blu-ray and DVD – and is also available as a separate DVD and for digital download. From the director of Snow Dogs, the film features a star-studded cast including Amber Valletta (Hitch), Billy Ray Cyrus (Disney’s “Hannah Montana”) and George Lopez (Valentine’s Day), and grossed over $24 million at the box office.

This KIDS FIRST!-endorsed action-comedy which also received the Dove Foundation Seal of Approval, contains bonus features the whole family will enjoy – including a blooper reel and two fun featurettes that bring audiences up-close and personal with the cast.

In true Jackie Chan fashion, The Spy Next Door delivers incredible stunts, fast action suspense and hearty family entertainment. When Bob Ho is called to babysit his neighbor’s unruly children, they accidentally blow his cover as a spy by downloading secret codes on his computer. Suddenly Bob has to kick into super agent mode and take the kids on an action-packed adventure that turns suburbia upside down. Bob fights off assassins and arch villains, narrowly escapes traps and outsmarts double-agents while somehow managing to keep the kids out of harm’s way.

The contest ends June 6th, 2010 at midnight. Good luck.

Jackie Chan’s noble act of delivering water to drought sufferers

London, May 22 (ANI): Actor Jackie Chan has come forward to aid those affected by a drought in China by personally bringing much-needed water to the area.

The ‘Rush Hour’ star delivered 48,000 bottles of fluids when he travelled to TongRen in China’s Guizhou province.

He also visited an elementary school, where he gave students backpacks filled with notebooks, t-shirts and rulers, reports the Daily Star.

In a post on his blog, he writes, “Up in the mountains where the people lived, they were facing serious water shortages. In the summer’s dry season, villagers have to walk 10 miles down the mountain just to collect two bottles of water.”

“In the car up to the mountain, I could see the roof of many houses, used as a reservoir for water. However, it was covered with moss and there was no filter. They used it to wash their clothes, their plates, and even to drink,” he added.

The martial arts master not just the transported the water bottles but also helped the area by donating one million Yuan to the local government.

“After seeing how they drank water, I immediately donated one million RMB (Chinese Yuan) to the local government. Also, I donated money (for) the construction of 10 kilometers of water pipes and a water tower. Now, 9,000 people in the village can drink clean water!” he said. (ANI)

Jackie bought one of Michael Jackson silver gloves for his son

HONG KONG: Action superstar Jackie Chan has bought one of Michael Jackson's silver gloves for US$250,000 (S$352,000) for his son Jaycee Chan at a charity auction, reported Hong Kong media.

"This is the coolest gift my father has ever given to me!" said the 27-year-old.

Good things certainly come in pairs for the the younger Chan, who is currently in Taiwan to shoot six self-directed music videos in just nine days.

According to Chan, his mother, former actress Lin Feng Jiao, has also personally raised the prize money for a modern dance competition held by her son, from NT$15,000 to NT$25,000, to show her support for his work.

The winner of the competition will not only take the money but also get to appear in his music videos.

Interestingly, while Chan's celebrity parents have spared no expense to make their son happy, one of Jackie Chan's former employees, William Duen, claimed they were misers and mistreating their employees.

Duen claimed that the kungfu star fired his former right-hand man, Kenneth Lo, right after he appointed his wife Lin as head of his two entertainment firms JCE Movies and JC Group.

Duen, who was also fired after Lin's appointment, accused Jackie Chan of being "a heartless boss" when he spoke to Hong Kong reporters last week.

Lo, 50, had been working with Jackie Chan for 30 years but apparently received just HK$100,000 (S$18,000) in compensation when he was dismissed last year.

Lo, who had no other experience other than being a martial artist and bodyguard, is reportedly still unemployed.

Jackie Records Asia Games Theme Song in Guangzhou

Jackie arrived in Guangzhou to record the theme song, “Blue Sky” (Lan Tian), for the Asian Games. As soon as he got off the plane, he went straight to the recording studio and held a short press conference before recording the song. When Jackie arrived at the studio, he expressed: "I think the only time I'll be able to get some rest is when I’m lying in my coffin."

Jackie also emphasized that the main message in the song Blue Sky is peace. “Peace is the basis of philanthropy and charity. You have to have peace before you can talk about development and protecting the environment. Without peace, these things are pointless.”

Jackie spoke about how excited he was to record this song with Sun Nan (famous singer in China). Jackie said, “I’m so happy to have this opportunity to work with Sun Nan. It’s also something that I’ve always wanted to do.”

When asked about his work and responsibilities, Jackie looked a little helpless and said, “Within 5 days, I flew to Yushu twice and Yunnan two times. Now I’m here. Tomorrow I’m going back to Hong Kong. Then I’m going to be in America, and then back to Shanghai. There is promotional work, disaster relief work, delivering water, discussing the script in Shanghai, performing for the Shanghai expo, and recording songs. I don’t think anyone will believe how busy I am. I’m not human anymore.”
